Frequently Asked Questions Continuing Education Requirements for Relicensure in KY Accreditation Certification Boards

Accreditation

The Medical Center is approved by the Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN) as a provider of continuing education, under Provider Number 4-0101. Kentucky Board of Nursing approval of an individual nursing continuing education provider does not constitute endorsement of program content. The continuing education programs are fully accredited by the KBN under its standards and criteria for mandatory continuing education for nurses.

Commonwealth Health Corporation is also pre-approved by the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) to offer category II continuing education classes toward advancement, recertification, or reappointment in ACHE. Parties wishing to have CE credits applied toward category II should list their attendance when applying for advancement, recertification, or reappointment in ACHE.

The department also makes application for approval of individual offerings through the following agencies:

• Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care (KBRC)
• Kentucky Cabinet for Human Resources (CHR)
Radiology: Radiation Operator Certification
Dietitians: Commission on Dietetic Registration
Pharmacists: Kentucky State Board of Pharmacy
Kentucky State Board of Accountancy
