HOW CAN I FIND OUT WHAT CLASSES IVE ATTENDED PREVIOUSLY AND HOW MANY CEU CREDITS I'VE OBTAINED?
You may stop by the Education and Development Center or call us at (270) 796-2566, fax
us at (270) 796-6888, or send an intranet message through Meditech to obtain a class attendance profile of all classes.
A copy will be printed and mailed to you within five business days.

IF MY CLASS IS CANCELLED, HOW WILL I KNOW?
Tell me about the Basic Life Support (BLS or CPR), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) courses.
| ACLS - | This program is designed for MDs, Paramedics, RNs, and Respiratory Therapists. Participants are prepared to respond to life threatening situations according to American Heart Association Protocol. |
| - | The prerequisites for this program is competency in cardiac rhythms recognition and current BLS (CPR). |
PALS - |
This program is designed for MDs, Paramedics, RNs & Respiratory Therapists. Participants are prepared to respond to life threatening situations in the Pediatric patient according to American Heart Association Protocol. |

BLS - |
Or CPR is designed for Healthcare providers to prepare them to respond to emergency situations For those who are not Healthcare providers contact our Community Wellness Department (745-1010) for CPR classes. |

ARE CPR CLASSES AT YOUR FACILITY OPEN TO THE PUBLIC?
BLS (or CPR) classes offered on-site at our healthcare facility are designed primarily for healthcare providers. Please call the Education department at (270) 796-2566 or (270) 796-6548 for class date and time information. Participants must arrive on time for classes and must pre-register.
Interested individuals who are not healthcare providers wanting Heartsaver classes may contact the Community Wellness Department at 745-1010 or (800) 624-2318. The Heartsaver classes are offered periodically for the public at The Medical Center's Health & Wellness Center in Greenwood Mall. The class schedule will be listed on the Health & Wellness Center's calendar of events.

HOW DO I GET ON THE DEPARTMENTAL MAILING LIST?
Contact the Education Secretary at (270) 796-2566 if you wish to be added to the
departmental mailing list for quarterly calendars. Please leave your name, mailing address and
a phone number where you can be reached or e-mail EDU@chc.net.

WHAT CD-ROM TRAINING DISKS ARE AVAILABLE AND HOW DO I ARRANGE TO USE THEM?
The Education Department now offers a series of computer training programs on CD-ROM, as well as additional modules for clinical instruction. These disks may be used at the Education & Development Center (EDC) or checked out to use at the convenience of your own computer station.
Computer training CD-ROM titles that are currently available include:
Most programs are available in beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Each training program takes 2-4 hours to complete.

The CD-ROM training disks may be signed out by CHC
employees only. The initial checkout period is one week and can be renewed
for an additional week if no one is on the waiting list. It is recommended that you call
ahead for availability. For more information, or to reserve a training disk, call

DOES THE EDUCATION & DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT OFFER THE KENTUCKY REQUIRED TRAINING ON AIDS?
The Education and Development Department offers a self-study course titled
Understanding AIDS. This program is designed to meet the Kentucky requirements for AIDS education
and is approved by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health Services for all healthcare providers. The
self-study program costs $30.00 and can be obtained by filling out a
Course Registration Form and mailing it to address listed. Upon the return of the
AIDS post test, 2 CEU credits will be issued to the participant who scores 70%
or higher.
